Maybe, but wouldn't interference from those come up as `noise' on the
signal/noise measurements provided by iwconfig?  I have yet to see
anything other than -256dBm there, and S/N ratio can be +200 and still
have the same trouble.

Also, the trick in this case is to reboot the access point.  Instantly,
transfer rates go back to normal (~700kByte/s).
